Yellow Horizontal Bar was in Glenveagh National Park on the 1st November, was in Lough Salt (20km away) on the 7th and was radio tracked in the Park on the 8th, 13th, 15th, 26th and the 27th. Yellow 1 Spot and Yellow 2 Spots were seen near the food dumps in Glenveagh on the 3rd and 4th October, respectively. On the 1st September 40 hill walkers on the Blue Stack Mountains were thrilled with good views of two Golden Eagles. By the 4th September Yellow Horizontal Bar and Yellow Diagonal Bar were radio tracked and seen soaring and foraging for food in the SE of the Derryveagh Mountains. On the 15th August the eight captive Golden Eagles were measured and fitted with wing tags and radio tags. This year's wing tags are Sky Blue and have white numbers. Four more young Golden Eagles were collected in Scotland between the 3-8th July. The birds were gathered in Tayside (2), Lochaber and Invernesshire. So 8 birds in total were imported from Scotland in 2002. 3 Spots was noted west of the Barnesmore Gap road in the Blue Stacks on the 12th July.
